Today we will be looking at announcements from Aphria Inc. (TSX: APHA) (NYSE: APHA), PharmaCielo Ltd., Hempco Food and Fiber Inc.(TSX.V: HEMP), Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX:ACB) (NYSE:ACB) and Khiron Life Sciences Corp. (TSXV: KHRN), (OTCQB: KHRNF).
Aphria Inc. has recently entered into an exclusive agreement with Toronto-based UNOapp Inc. to collaborate on the development of technology and analytics solutions for Canada's adult-use cannabis industry.

PharmaCielo Ltd., the Canadian parent of Colombia's premier cultivator and producer of medicinal-grade cannabis oil PharmaCielo Colombia Holdings S.A.S., opened the TSX Venture Exchange today, on the Company's first day of trading under the symbol "PCLO" as announced January 9, 2019.

Hempco Food and Fiber Inc. announced that it has completed an agreement with Aurora Cannabis Inc. for a non-brokered, private placement of a C$5 million non-transferable, secured, convertible debenture. As previously disclosed on December 21, 2018, the Company has drawn C$3 million against the C$5 million loan for general corporate purposes.
Aurora currently holds a 52% interest in Hempco and, if fully converted, excluding interest, would hold 55% of Hempco's outstanding shares.
The convertible debenture will be secured by a general security agreement and a guaranty from Hempco's wholly owned subsidiary, Hempco Canada Superfoods Inc.
"The agreement provides us with access to additional funds to accelerate execution of our Five-Prong Growth Strategy, which includes the development of new markets, the introduction of new product innovations, as well as capitalizing on global tri-crop opportunities," said Diane Jang, CEO, Hempco Food and Fiber Inc. "With our new Nisku plant anticipated to commence operations and ramp up this coming spring, we are well positioned to execute and pursue accelerated growth."
Khiron Life Sciences Corp., an integrated medical cannabis company with its core operations in Colombia, announced today that the Company has launched its Latin America medical education program with a schedule of doctor training and learning events in Bogota, Colombia on January 21-23, and in Mexico City, Mexico on February 28. These events, with more than 300 health care professionals in attendance, reflect a growing relationship between Khiron, medical associations and health care professionals across the region to inform, educate and discuss medical cannabis knowledge and developments.
The Khiron medical education program is launching in Colombia and Mexico as part of a stated strategy to build a robust doctor network across Latin America through Khiron hosted and sponsored events and conferences, and with the endorsement of leading regional medical associations. Events are education based, with global research and insight on medical cannabis and information platforms to support doctors and health care professionals in providing medical cannabis treatment options.
