GB Sciences,
Inc. updated the progress in their efforts to identify, cultivate and extract
full spectrum hemp oil from proprietary hemp strains that contain desirable
ratios of CBD, cannabinoids and terpenes to provide the necessary compounds to
support both the Company's medical Intellectual Properties portfolio and open a
fresh revenue stream in the rapidly growing retail hemp market.
The search
for a full spectrum hemp oil product that matched the quality and consistency
of their cannabis genetics led GB Sciences to The Colorado Hemp Project. CHP is
a developer of best-in-breed genetics and recognized worldwide as a leader in
the cultivation of hemp with the first legal hemp harvest in the United States.
The revenue
picture for production of hemp CBD is multi-threaded and bright. Current market
prices put hemp flower yields at approximately 1000lbs. per acre with a retail
value of between $100- $500 per lb. But GB will manufacture full spectrum oil
and CBD Isolate from their grows yielding $30K - $50K and $32K - $64K in
revenue per acre respectively. The initial CHP test grow is thirteen acres of
prime Colorado growing environments to supply the base proprietary strains that
will serve as mother plants for larger scale cultivation in multiple locations.
Aurora
Cannabis Inc. announced today that it has reached an agreement with Shopify
Inc., one of the world's leading multi-channel, online commerce companies, to
leverage the Shopify platform as Aurora's ecommerce engine for medical and
recreational cannabis distribution globally.
Working
closely with Aurora Cannabis' industry-leading software engineering team,
Shopify will assist in transitioning Aurora's current ecommerce site to a new,
Shopify-developed platform, improving the customer experience for Aurora's
current medical and future adult consumer use customers. One of the key
benefits of the Shopify platform is its rapid and seamless scalability as
Aurora executes on its domestic and international expansion strategy.
C21
Investments, Inc., announced a strategic expansion into the State of Nevada
with one of the largest investment transactions into the USA cannabis industry
by any Canadian public company to date. The acquisition and investment of
expansion capital into Silver State Relief LLC and Silver State Cultivation LLC
represents a major investment transaction valuing the
acquired vertically integrated assets in excess of USD$50 million. This major
acquisition of revenue generating assets of CDN $37.5 million trailing 12-month
revenue (USD $28.5 million) is a new milestone in C21's expansion into
the USA cannabis industry. The Silver State transaction is the first
transaction in a larger plan by C21 to significantly expand cultivation,
processing, wholesale distribution of branded products and retail operations
throughout the State of Nevada. The Silver State Nevada partnership will
establish C21's competitive position in the Nevada market. C21's investment and
expansion of Silver State's operations will generate new high-quality jobs and
economic development within the State of Nevada.
Stem
Holdings, Inc. announced that its common shares have begun trading under the
ticker symbol “STEM” on the Canadian Securities Exchange.
Stem is
an innovative real estate company, which acquires and improves properties for
the cannabis industry. Stem owns multiple licensed cultivation facilities and
retail stores in Oregon and Nevada. The Company has also developed partnerships
with a number of award-winning cannabis brands.
Golden Lead Holdings Ltd., a cannabis
company with cultivation, production and retail operations built around
recognized brands, announced the introduction of several cannabis concentrate
product lines in the state of Nevada through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Greenpoint Nevada (“Greenpoint”).
The Nevada
cannabis market has grown rapidly since it allowed retailers to begin adult-use
sales ahead of finalizing the program regulations in July 2017. Sales
have consistently outperformed industry estimates and are expected to bring in
$120M in tax revenue through July 2019, according to the Nevada Department of
Taxation. Through its Nevada operations, Golden Leaf products are currently
being sold in more than half of the dispensaries
in the state, with market share expected to increase once the Company invests
further in production infrastructure.
