Today’s podcast overview/transcript:

Good afternoon and welcome to another episode of Investorideas.com "Potcast" featuring cannabis news, stocks to watch as well as insights from thought leaders and experts.

In today’s podcast we will be looking at a few private and public company announcements.

Khiron Life Sciences Corp. (TSXV: KHRN) (OTCQX: KHRNF), a vertically integrated cannabis leader with core operations in Latin America and Europe, announced the opening of its first Zerenia clinic in Medellin, Colombia´s second largest city with reach to over 6 million residents in the region.

The Medellin clinic, with a grand opening planned for December 8, 2020, supports Khiron´s goal of expanding regional access to the Company's proven clinic services and medical cannabis products for patients across the country, with a focus on in-person and telehealth services in Colombia's largest urban centres. The clinic is conveniently located in the San Diego sector of the city, minutes from downtown with access to public transit and walking distance to major business and residential areas.

"We launched our Zerenia operations in Bogota in Q1 2020 and in Q2 our Dr. Zerenia telehealth operations began. The clinic data quickly showed that more than 25% of patients were accessing our telehealth services from outside of Bogota. Once proven successful, Khiron will continue to expand its regional presence, in Colombia and beyond," comments Alvaro Torres, Khiron CEO and Director.

The Zerenia Medellin clinic will be the first in the city, expanding national access and improving the quality of life of patients in the populous Antioquia region. The clinic will provide face-to-face care and teleconsultation through the Doctor Zerenia platform and physical consultation, connecting patients with medical specialists trained in the ethical, safe and responsible prescription of cannabis-based medications, and in the comprehensive treatment of pathologies such as chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, depression, headache, epilepsy and Parkinson's.

Dynaleo, Canada's highest-capacity manufacturer of premium cannabis-infused soft chews, announced that it has received its sales license from Health Canada, effective November 27, 2020. The license allows Dynaleo to supply and sell cannabis edibles to provincial, territorial and private wholesalers the country over.

"This is a significant moment for Dynaleo as we work toward being the Canadian leader in adult premium cannabis-infused soft chew products. The Health Canada sales license is the final step in a process that now allows us to enter the Canadian market where we believe we can fill a need for high-quality recreational and wellness cannabis-infused products," says Dynaleo Executive Chairman Michael Krestell. "I am extremely proud of the entire Dynaleo team that has once again delivered exceptional results and we are looking forward to beginning commercial production this week."

In addition to producing its own branded products, Dynaleo has supply agreements in place with Pantry, a premium cannabis-infused food brand based in California, and High 12 Brands, a Canadian consumer packaged goods cannabis company.

Founded in 2018, Dynaleo is a privately-owned cannabis edibles company specializing in the development and manufacturing of custom THC & CBD infused confectioneries. Its 26,000 square-foot Edmonton facility includes a specialized production line capable of producing a high volume of cannabis-infused gummies for private label partners and in-house brands.

With its sales license now in hand, Dynaleo expects its products will soon be available in authorized retail and online locations.

Nova Mentis Life Science Corp. (CSE: NOVA) (OTC: LIBFF) announced that, further to its news releases dated November 2 and November 18, 2020, the amalgamation between Pilz Bioscience Corp. and 1271642 B.C. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, has been completed.

Strategic and value enhancing benefits of the Transaction include:

       NOVA gains Pilz' work-in-progress research and scientific portfolio in addition to approximately $1.4M CDN in cash assets;

       Enhances and diversifies NOVA's mandate within the emerging medicinal psychedelic sector;

       Bolsters human capital with personnel who have extensive experience in pharmaceutical research, FDA regulatory affairs, drug delivery and drug discovery; and

       Near term corporate catalysts as Pilz advances its pre-clinical and potential clinical medicinal psychedelic focus.

Pilz is a research driven biotechnology company that aims to develop medicinal psychedelics for neuroinflammatory conditions with a significant cognitive component and high unmet therapeutic needs.  Pilz's focus is on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and its initial research has centred on developing a unique and proprietary system for diagnosing and treating ASD, with first-in-class psilocybin-based therapeutics.

The Pilz research and development program is led by the distinguished Dr. Marvin S. Hausman MD. Dr. Hausman is an Immunologist and Board-Certified Urological Surgeon with more than 30 years of drug research and development experience with various pharmaceutical companies, including Bristol-Myers International, Mead-Johnson Pharmaceutical Co., E.R. Squibb, Medco Research, and Axonyx.

Dr. Hausman is well-supported in his research efforts at Pilz, by Dr. Julia Perederiy, an established research neuroscientist, and Dr. Viviana Trezza, Head of Pharmacology, Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy. The goal of both scientists is to investigate the brain mechanisms underlying functional and dysfunctional socio-emotional behavior, especially in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Peak Processing Solutions (Peak), a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian pharmaceutical company Althea Group Holdings Limited (ASX:AGHannounced that it has entered an agreement with the Tinley  Beverage Company (CSE:TNY) (OTC:TNYBF) for the manufacture and distribution of three non-alcoholic, cannabis-infused beverages for the Canadian adult-use cannabis market - being Tinley's™ '27 elixirs, Coconut Cask, Cinnamon Cask and Almond Cask.

Peak's facility is uniquely configured to manufacture Tinley's complex recipes and support the packing in the 150 mL bottle format that Tinley's will use for the Tinley's '27 drinks in Canada.  Under the Agreement, Peak holds exclusivity for the manufacture and distribution of these three Tinley's products in Canada until Tinley's meets established minimum orders. The agreement is for a 3 year period.

Late last year, Tinley's won the coveted Gold and Silver awards in California's Emerald Cup, the largest cannabis competition in the world.  The products being produced by Peak include the Canadian version of award-winning Coconut Cask, a Caribbean coconut  elixir.  Other products include an Italian-inspired, almond, apricot and vanilla elixir and a cinnamon-barrel elixir.  All contain a scientifically-advanced emulsion designed to enable consumers to enjoy an uplifting, broad-spectrum  effect with rapid onset.  The technology also enables consistent dosing, even dispersion of active material throughout the product, and shelf stability.

Commenting on the Agreement, Peak's Founder and President, Gregg Battersby, said: "The Agreement with Tinley's is yet another key milestone for Peak.  Tinley's has consistently demonstrated the ability to introduce products to market that are best-in-class. Tinley's products have developed a significant following and we are pleased to be a part of the international expansion of their established line of products. We look forward to building a strong long-term partnership with the Tinley's team. This Agreement represents further proof of concept of Peak's white label manufacturing strategy; the cannabis 2.0 products space represents ample opportunity for existing consumer packaged goods groups to expand their markets, and we have all the capabilities and expertise to support those expansions."

Tinley's President of California, Rick Gillis, said: "The Agreement with Peak is an exciting step for our company, as we seek to further drive geographic expansion through launch of our second product family in the Canadian market.  Peak's facility and team of professionals deliver the world class standard of Cannabis 2.0 co-packing services that we're working to provide at our own licensed co-packing facility in Long Beach, California.  Peak's team has already demonstrated expert capabilities with the depth and rigor required to produce our sophisticated formulations in a compliant and consistent manner.  Our team is confident that they can support the growth and scalability we anticipate requiring to execute in Canada's booming infused drink category in the months and years to come."

48North, Aurora Cannabis, Aphria Inc., Canopy Growth, Cronos Group – and the Cannabis Council of Canada ('C3')have partnered to pilot a national vape recycling program that will help consumers dispose of vape hardware safely and responsibly. The program will supply cannabis retail locations with countertop collection boxes and will be rolled out to more than 200 stores across British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. Participating retailers will accept disposable vape pens, vape batteries, and cartridges from all brands.

The industry enlisted Quantum Lifecycle Partners ('Quantum'), a leading Canadian e-recycling provider with the expertise to properly handle the various elements embedded in vape technology. "This initiative signals an important step in developing shared solutions so that the industry can meet stewardship responsibilities on a collective basis," said George Smitherman, President and CEO of the Cannabis Council of Canada. "We've seen past leadership on recycling from individual companies within the sector that made today possible," Smitherman noted.

Clayton Miller, Vice President, Business Development, Recycling for Quantum explains, "We achieve a high rate of recycling by sorting, separating and processing the various vape components into base commodities that can be reused in new products again and again." Miller also remarked, "Quantum is really happy to be part of the solution and congratulates the LPs and industry that have stepped forward and taken this leadership position."

"It feels good to be collaborating with industry on solutions that help consumers recycle their vapes," said Steven Fish, Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility for Aurora Cannabis – and a catalyst for the program. "We will learn how much material can be recovered during this pilot project and where we can take this partnership next," he added.

C3 is the national industry association for licensed producers of cannabis. The Council is preparing to launch a Sustainability Caucus in order to prepare the sector for enhanced leadership related to environmental initiatives undertaken at the national, provincial, and territorial levels.
